Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eye-lining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids.

Gradual fading can be expected for all micro-pigmentation procedures. This varies among people and is dependent on the specific shade used, personal care routine and sun exposure. Most colours and pigments last 3 to 5 years, although some may not fade for as long as 10 years depending on the client, skin type and area.

Area numb the area prior to tattooing as well as re-numb half way through the procedure to minimize discomfort. It is also recommended to avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to the appointment caffeine 4 hours prior and take a Tylenol (if ok’d by your physician) 1 hour after your appointment to further help with discomfort. 

The first 10 days are the most crucial for the cuts to heal up on the outer layer of the skin. It takes minimum 6 weeks to fully heal before you can do a touch up as there is still a healing process under the skin. Pigment is appear up to 40% lighter once healed.
